“Augusta Richly is a spoiled little girl. What do you think she might want next…nope not that but a PTEROSAUR! This graphic novel is a high-interest easy read for early readers. It is full of bright colors and appropriate font size for these readers to love the text. Well Augusta gets her wish but then wants to see it fly? What bad could really happen? Well…now let’s think who will save the city from a pterosaur on the loose? Of course super super potato! Will that be easy? Wait why are there now TWO pterosaurs? The text will bring out questions from the reader. Why has Mr. Richley been in a pool for 12 years? Why a pterosaur? As a teacher, this would be a great text to use for instruction or for students to read independently. It can be used to introduce students to graphic novels and how to read them. It can also be used to discuss characters. This might include traits, their characteristics, or how they impact the plot of the story. Teachers also might use the text to explore connections for students including text to text, text to self, and text to world. Reviewer Rating: 4” —Children’s Literature
