Award-winning nonfiction children’s book author Elaine Landau has written over 300 books for young readers. She worked as a newspaper reporter, a children’s book editor, and a youth services librarian before becoming a full time author.

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?: Elizabeth Partridge, Jane Yolen, and Seymour Simon
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?: I love the written word and I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings with others.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?: Write as much and as often as you can. Practice makes perfect. Do a lot of reading as well.
