“This picture book for young elementary learners introduces singer-actress-superstar Olivia Rodrigo. The book is light on text, but includes many pictures of the famous popstar, who first gained fame with lead roles in various Disney programs, including High School Musical: The Musical. Her breakthrough pop song Driver’s License made her even more famous and drew more notoriety to her work. Rodrigo has won awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. She was named Entertainer of the Year by Time Magazine in 2021. This book does a good job of introducing young children to the popular superstar. In keeping with the nonfiction genre, it divides the text into chapters, and incorporates photos from various stages of Olivia’s life. The hardbound copy is durable and likely to hold up to repeated use, making it a great choice for younger readers.
