A diet drink has just contaminated a large population of the United States, and chaos is rapidly spreading throughout the country. The government decides to corral the contaminated into dog kennels, and ruthlessly sets out to stop the outbreak from spreading further.
Somehow seventeen-year-old Velvet manages to rescue her mom from quarantine, and together with her little sister and boyfriend they try to start a new life away from the calamity.
But the outbreak continues to mutate, turning more and more people into zombies. For Velvet and her family, time is running out. Only this time, there doesn’t seem to be any escape.
