Obituary: Jerry Hanson, former President of Muscle Bound Bindery

Lerner Publishing Group would like to acknowledge the passing of Gerald Lee “Jerry” Hanson, former President of Muscle Bound Bindery, who passed away last month after a long illness. Jerry worked with Lerner for 36 years, retiring in 2004.

“Jerry was completely responsible for the success of Muscle Bound Bindery in every aspect from design, equipment and management. His reputation as a world class trade book binder was known to those in the industry and his advice was often sought by industry experts,” says Harry Lerner, Founder and Chairman of Lerner Publishing Group. “Our company is forever grateful for his dedication, loyalty and commitment. Our condolences go out to his family, wife Francis, and daughter Heather, who also worked at Muscle Bound Bindery. He will be missed by all who knew him."

Hanson, Gerald “Jerry” Lee Age 80 of Buffalo, passed away June 21, 2020. Jerry worked for Miller Publishing, Lerner Publications, and served as President of Muscle Bound Bindery Inc., until his retirement in 2004. He was a founding member and past-president of the Route 55 Corvette Cruisers, member of the Printing Industry of Minnesota, and past president of the Bloomington Area Shrine Club, member of the Zuhrah Shrine Temple, the Minnehaha Lodge 165, and Scottish Rite. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and M. Arlin Hanson; brother, Ronald, and nephew, Eric. Jerry is survived by his wife, Fran; children, Stacey (Ken), Heather (Corey), and Shaun; sister, Barbara Hedges; grandchildren, Jordan (Miranda), Joe, Taylor, Victoria (Jared), Nick (Kaitlyn), Andrew, and Annalee; great-grandchildren, Landon, Abel, Ivan, Rebekah, Karianna, and Rhett, and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, from 11:00 to 4:00 PM at the Classic Hall Event Center: 220 Poplar Lane South Annandale, MN. Service will begin at 12:00, luncheon to follow.
