Ronaldo was born in 1985 on the island of Madeira, near Portugal. He and his friends played soccer on the street because they didn’t have a local field. As a child, Ronaldo had notable talent, even though he hated losing so much that he earned the nickname crybaby. He was recruited to an elite soccer academy at a young age, and his skill and fame grew from there.
