Kiss the Book
A simple picture book filled with photos and clearly written text that explains what fire trucks are, what they do, and the various equipment found on specific types of trucks. There is an index and suggested readings for more information found at the back of the book.
This book is written for young audiences and has big, bright pictures that will easily capture their interest. I liked that the text was simple and straightforward, and I was especially a fan of the critical thinking questions that are included in the book; these really encourage the reader to think and interact with the book on a deeper level. For libraries seeking informational texts for young readers, this is a good choice.
