Bao Luu
Bao Luu was born in Vietnam and currently lives near Houston, Texas. Bao knew he wanted to become an artist since he was a child. As an artist, he focuses on color and texture in his illustrations.

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
Masayasu Uchida, Tadahiro Uesugi, Shaun Tan
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I’ve always wanted to tell a story though my illustrations, and to show the connections between people on the page. Becoming a book illustrator help me gain so much knowledge from various fields through researching and collecting references.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
If you have enough passion and if this is the job you do best, keep pursuing it. Remember to constantly improve yourself, and always practice to get better and better.
