Anne Lambelet

Anne Lambelet earned a bachelor’s degree in illustration from the University of the Arts in 2014 where she was awarded the Roger T. Hane award for the top illustration portfolio by a senior. She currently lives in Philadelphia with her husband Brice, her adorable dog, Eevee and her morbidly obese (but also adorable) cat, Fitzgerald.

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

So hard to choose, but I guess if I had to pick just one…McElligot’s Pool by Dr. Seuss

What’s your favorite line from a book?

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Julia Sarda, William Joyce, A. A. Milne

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

I wanted to invite people inside my imagination so that we could spend time there together.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Don’t be embarrassed of liking things that your friends don’t like. Love your weird “nerdy” interests intensely and passionately. Those interests are going to supply the ingredients that make your stories unique.
