Interview

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein

What’s your favorite line from a book?

“Put something silly in the world that ain’t been there before.”—A Light in the Attic

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Shel Silverstein, David Ezra Stein, Eric Carle

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

I became an author because I believe words aren’t just for reading — they’re for giggling, wiggling, and rolling right off the tongue. I love puns that make you laugh (and even groan), rhymes that bounce, and stories that remind us imagination is the best playground of all. After all, why just read a book when you can live in a world made of words?

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Your voice is your superpower. Don’t hide your quirks, humor, or the way you see the world. When you write with honesty and joy, your words will connect and inspire.
