What was your favorite book when you were a child?
When I was little Winnie the Witch was a classic favourite. It is beautifully illustrated and the use of colour is so impactful and engaging throughout the book. It also makes me chuckle, even now. As a teen all of the Harry Potter books are a must! I still love them now; that’s the telling of a sensational book if it’s still memorable and loved years later.
Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
Jim Field, Laura Hughes, and Bethan Woolvin
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I have always loved drawing painting and creating combined with my love for children books. It was the dream job – it’s hard work but also so much fun!
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Keep creating and stay true to yourself, don’t compare yourself to others in your industry, always support one another, and enjoy every minute. The hard work does pay off!
