Interview

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

Les aventures de Tintin. I wished I could have such an exciting life of travelling around the world when I would grow up.

What’s your favorite line from a book?

“Tonnerre de Brest!” Again from Tintin, it’s one of Capitaine Haddock’s favorite expressions.

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Illustrators, because I am one: Elise Gravel and Isabelle Arsenault. Both are from my hometown, Montreal, and they have very different styles which I both adore!

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

Reading and drawing were my favorite things to do as a child so it’s only fitting I became a children’s book illustrator.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Work hard! It’s a very competitive field so you have to be very good at what you are doing and put the long hours.
