Interview
What was your favorite book when you were a child?
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
What’s your favorite line from a book?
I have two actually which I think of almost daily:
“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference
between lightning and a lightening bug.”–Mark Twain, The Wit and Wisdom of Mark Twain“Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”–Doug Kenney, Chris Miller, Harold Ramis, Animal House
Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
Mark Twain, Ross MacDonald, Don Winslow
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
Too fidgety and weird to go an office every day, totally uncoordinated, utterly
unscientific, bruise easily. Not much was left.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Don’t. Just kidding. Do. Stranger things have happened. Besides, somebody has to.
