Interview

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

Barbapapa by Annette Tison and Talus Taylor.

What’s your favorite line from a book?

“A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.” -Roald Dahl

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, Craig Thompson

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

I wanted to be an animator as a little girl, but by the time I got to college, computer animation had taken over traditional hand-drawn. Books are another outlet for that same passion. Writing and illustrating gives me the chance to bring stories to life through art.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Try to write or draw every day. Create things that matter to you. Draw from your own well of experiences and passions. Go to a good art college. And last, make sure you build a good support community!
