I drew prolifically in childhood and continued to gravitate towards various forms of art and music throughout my education and life. I enjoy the process of enhancing stories with my visual perspective and like to collaborate with others on projects. Illustration has been the perfect fit for my passions and abilities.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Ask those in the field for advice and be sure to follow it.
Follow up with thanking them for that advice. It takes time for them to give you that attention and help.
Don’t look for shortcuts. Do your research and the hard work it takes to build.
