Randy DuBurke has been a professional illustrator for more than thirty years. He has done comic book art, animation, editorial illustration, book covers, and children’s books. He lives in Switzerland with his wife and two children.

What’s your favorite line from a book?

“After breakfast he called to his friend from across the hall, and they went out together into the deep, deep snow.”

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Ted & Betsy Lewin, Adam Rex, Jean-Baptiste Monge, Bernie Fuchs, Chris Van Allsbury, Jon Muth, David Wiesner, Marc Sutherland, Gary Blythe, Dave Mckean.

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

I always liked to draw and make up stories to go with my drawings so it grew from those early nuggets.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Read anything and everything you can. Live life and absorb it.
Draw everything you can and absorb the world around you.
