What was your favorite book when you were a child?
The Little Engine That Could by Lois Lensky – and all the Little Golden Books.
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I never thought I’d be an author. But I know how important it is to teach the skills of being responsible from a very early age. Luckily I had a great editor, and I hope my writing will help young children for many years to come.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Work with publishing companies who share the same values and beliefs you do. And if you have a story to tell or lessons to share, do it!
