Natalia Vasquez

Natalia Vasquez is a freelance illustrator living in Lima, where she studied painting at the local fine arts school. She works with a variety of media including pencil, ink, watercolor and digital art. She has illustrated both English and Spanish children’s books.

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

An old European tale about bears, unfortunately I can’t remember the title, I was too young!

What’s your favorite line from a book?

“Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up.” Pablo Picasso

Quentin Blake, Eric Carle, Laszlo Reber, Janosch, Taro Gomi

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

To bring wonderful stories to life!

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

To always allow the inner child to express when drawing a new story.
