Interview

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

“Tulip’s illusion” by Kenji Miyazawa

What’s your favorite line from a book?

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour

“Auguries of Innocence” by William Blake

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Kenji Miyazawa, E.T.A Hoffmann, and Rebecca Dautremer

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

A rainbow-colored small beetle flew into my mouth when I was relaxing on the grass. As it was so beautiful on my palm, I had a strong desire to draw and memorize it. Then I became an illustrator.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Drawing Devorah’s invisible visions is quite a challenge which brought me a new way of expression.
