Hideko Takahashi, who was born and raised in Japan, graduated from Doshisha University in Kyoto and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She has illustrated many children’s books. Her favorite things to draw are kids, bugs, and dogs. She lives in Seattle, Washington.

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I have always liked drawing since I was a child, and I thought my art had story-telling quality.
