What was your favorite book when you were a child?

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

What’s your favorite line from a book?

"Ride on! Rough-shod if need me, smooth-shod if that will do, but ride on! Ride on over all obstacles, and win the race!"
—Charles Dickens, David Copperfield

Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?

Garth Williams (illustrator),Laura Ingalls Wilder (author), Mark Twain (author)

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

As a child, I dreamed of being a writer. I spent my childhood writing stories and creating puppet shows just for fun. To me, it is a great feeling to create characters and make them come to life.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Read as much as you can to see how others write. Live a lot and look closely at everyone and everything around you so you have something to write about. Write the story that you want to write, and don’t give up!
