Interview

What was your favorite book when you were a child?

The Outsiders (S. E. Hinton)

Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?

I just always wanted to. I’ve always loved reading books and telling stories, and I couldn’t imagine anything better than becoming a writer. I started practicing my “famous author autograph” when I was still in grade school.

Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?

Read, write, read, write, read, write.
