What was your favorite book when you were a child?
There are too many to choose just one, but the first book I read that made me really and truly fall in love with reading was Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt.
Who are your top three favorite authors or illustrators?
My favorite authors are always changing, and include both authors for adults and authors of middle grade and young adult fiction.
Why did you want to become an author or illustrator?
I love learning new things and using my imagination—and piecing it all together in writing.
Do you have any advice for future authors or illustrators?
Read a lot and write a lot, and have fun with it.
