Pull Ahead Readers are sets of thematically linked fiction and nonfiction series that help in building early literacy skills. Simple text patterns support emergent readers as they build their recognition of high-frequency sight words. Nonfiction titles are illustrated with colorful photos, and the fiction titles showcase charming illustrations. Both photos and illustrations are carefully matched to the text to aid comprehension.

The Fall 2022 series addition to the Pull Ahead Readers brand, I Care (Pull Ahead Readers People Smarts), includes six illustrated fiction titles and six photo-driven nonfiction titles, all at GRL A-D, that show kids ways to care for a friend, a pet, nature, and more.

For example, in the fiction title Okay, Joey, character Maren shares her snacks and toys with her brother Joey, while the nonfiction title I Care for My Sibling suggests different ways siblings might help each other out.
