Get Ready for the Super Bowl with the Lerner Sports Database

by Jon M. Fishman, Senior Editor

For sports fans, part of the thrill of watching the National Football League (NFL) playoffs is trying to guess what’s going to happen next.

Good luck with that. It’s the ultimate reality show, and no one knows how it’s going to end. When the Minnesota Vikings traveled to New Orleans to take on the Saints on January 5, 2020, the Saints were huge favorites. They had a better season record, an all-time great quarterback, and home-field advantage. So, of course, the Vikings won. Then they got crushed by the San Francisco 49ers six days later.

It’s January, which means the Super Bowl is right around the corner. The Lerner Sports team is getting pumped up by reliving some of the big game’s most thrilling moments on the Lerner Sports Database. The database is packed with NFL players, including a bunch of Super Bowl champions.

You could start with that legendary Saints quarterback. In 2010, Drew Brees led New Orleans to victory in Super Bowl XLIV against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Experience what it felt like to win that game with the database’s Drew Brees article, or check out the losing side’s perspective in the Peyton Manning article.

The Lerner Sports Database has something for all football fans, from Hall-of-Famer Brett Favre to the G.O.A.T., six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. It also has stars on the rise hoping to play in a Super Bowl someday, such as Patrick Mahomes and Odell Beckham Jr. Mahomes might even make it this year.

No matter what happens at Super Bowl LIV on February 2, the Lerner Sports team will be watching. Then we’ll get to work creating new articles for the database, and maybe even updating the existing article of a brand-new Super Bowl champion!
